Parks and Recreaction Fall Schedule in full swing

  Brook Street Pool

Well it's fall and a little chilly for those of us in Southern California. Now that doesn't mean you have to become a hermit. There are still lots of activities to do.

Here is a letter from the parks manager Eileen Turk http://www.ci.oceanside.ca.us/gov/ns/parks/default.asp, This site also has information on Special Events, Golf Courses, Senior Services and much more.

Fall Classes have begun and they always are glad to see you . We just finished indoor soccer at Melba Bishop. The staff is great with the kids and they are there because they enjoy your kids and teaching them about sports, team building skills and the importance of exercise. Alvin, Megan and Johnny were our main staff contacts this year and I want to thank them for all their hard work and fun stuff too.

The new class registration is available on line here http://recware.ci.oceanside.ca.us/registrationmain.sdi or you can go into the recreation centers to register and ask questions in person.

The Brook Street Pool will close Nov. 21, 2011 for some maintenance. All pool related programs will be available at the Marshall Street Pool. The pool is heated to 82 degrees, there are lanes open for lap swim, and programs like Aqua Fit and Water Aerobics. For more info click here http://www.ci.oceanside.ca.us/gov/ns/parks/pools.asp.

So get out in the fresh chilly air of beautiful Oceanside, make new friends and enjoy our Parks and Recreation departments.

Heritage Village Park and Museum Martin Luther King Skate Park

There are lots of activities available in Oceanside and Thanks to the folks at the City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation department you have something to do all year long.
There are bike trails( of course they have beach cruiser rentals too), Golf Courses, Skate Parks, Great parks for the kids and for those of you with pets we even have a dog park.
Today I would like to explore the dog park ...
http://www.ci.oceanside.ca.us/gov/ns/parks/amenities/dogpark.asp
You can let your dog run free of the leash that is require in the cities public parks.
This park was made possible by the folks at the North County Humane Society.
For more information on the North County Humane Society's fundraising efforts and ways in which you can get involved with this project, visit  www.sdhumane.org/.

So enjoy the parks our city has to offer and respect the rules that apply at each locations.
