Dia de Los Muertos Festival at Mission San Luis Rey

What a wonderful opportunity to visit the Historic Mission San Luis Rey AND join in the annual festival of Dia de Los Muertos.

The Festival use to be downtown in Oceanside near the pier. Now the last few year it has grown to draw such large crowds it has moved to the historical Mission San Luis Rey.

The festival is a tradition to celebrate the life of your loved ones who have passes away. It is a day of great joy and happiness.

Come down to the Mission today and learn about a culture  you may know little about or come and celebrate the life of your loved ones who have passed.

Watch STAND UP TO BULLYING Today

Have you been hearing more about cyberbullying these days? I have. Frankly, the topic concerns me.

Here's why: Even if our kids aren't the victims -- or the bullies -- chances are they'll witness cyberbullying during the school year. And with classes back in full swing, now is the ideal time to talk to them about it.

Common Sense Media makes it easy with concrete advice about how to start the cyberbullying conversation with kids of different ages. Visit http://www.commonsensemedia.org/cyberbullying.

I've made a promise to talk to my kids about cyberbullying. Will you join me?

Watch the live streaming discussion today.

Great Events For A Great Cause

Are you looking for dinner and dancing tonight. Why not do that and help raise funds for a Local scholarship group.

The North County African American Women’s Association invites you to our 15th Annual Gentlemen’s Gourmet Cook-Off that will be held at St. Margaret Parish Hall in Oceanside, California on Saturday, October 15, 2011.  This year’s theme is “Come to the Cabaret”.  This annual event is the primary fundraiser for our organization’s scholarship program.  Professional and amateur male chefs compete for “bragging rights” and prize money totaling $550 for the best chef in the division of amateur and professional chefs. This year we awarded approximately $10,000 in scholarships to deserving students in North San Diego County.
Come on out tonight and taste the best Oceanside has to offer. Your taste buds will be dancing too
